Scoliosis is often defined as a spinal deformity. Yet, even after spinal correction, ribcage deformity can remain. This led experts to redefine scoliosis as a full trunk deformity.
At HKU-SZH, we developed a novel method to reshape the chest wall. Together with spinal correction, this enabled correction of trunk deformity as a whole.
To improve results and accuracy, we developed HumpFree™, the world’s first surgical planning software for thoracoplasty, designed to simplify personalized ribcage correction, improve predictability, and enhance surgical outcomes via engineered surgical plans
